The studio’s Georgie Bench (named after George Nelson’s famous slat bench), is made with sustainability in mind, thanks to a waste conscious construction process and building materials consisting of nothing but bamboo and stainless steel.

As to your question, the process used to manufacture the Georgie table
is waste conscious in the sense that rather than simply CNCing the ribs
that comprise the bench out of large sheet goods (which would be
faster, but more wasteful) the rib’s shapes are first roughly glued up,
then CNCed. The only bi-product is sawdust (no cut-offs).
