I just can’t get enough of the hunting lodge faux-trophy thing. This ghost antler coat rack is especially awesome because it is about as elegant as you can get (for imitation deer antlers) and it is functional to boot!
Designed by Seattle artist Erich Ginder, the antlers are made from cast resin, and will set you back $230 from Velocity Art and Design.

+0I like the fact that they are faux-antlers but to be honest, I’d prefer to have the entire head as well (and then you could apply it to more ‘hung’ animals, cod for example)

I personally don’t think these are tacky, I think they are clever and cute. Instead of using a generic metal coat rack, you can get an organic sculpture that subtley mimics the “trophy” aesthetic without being too OTT. Anyways, I want to make it clear that the artist who makes these doesn’t just paint real antlers white. They are cast resin. I think actually having the a head in them would make them too “imitation” and thus tacky (aka karaoke deer head). Having just the antlers leaves a bit more to the imagination.

+0I’m going to have to agree with Jill. I don’t think the antlers are tacky at all. I think they are quite tasteful and really creative. I especially love the idea of having several grouped together.
Personally, I think adding a head to the antlers would be too much. And would ruin the “clean” (for lack of a better word at the moment) design.

Am I the only person who thinks these just look tacky? I mean why not just throw the whole deer head or stuffed moose back up over the mantle? Painting these objects a pristine white just doesn’t make it modern. These are going to date awfully fast.
