INHABITAT IS LOOKING FOR WRITERS

by Jill Fehrenbacher

Inhabitat is looking for new writers to help us expand our coverage on innovative home design. Requirements include a design or writing background, and a passion for groundbreaking architecture, interior and industrial design. Intrigued? Please read below.

If you are interested in writing for Inhabitat, please note that this is a great career move for someone who is passionate about design and design journalism, but you probably aren’t going to make a ton of money from it. We offer profit sharing (which isn’t a lot at the moment, but its growing quickly), and a chance to be part of a dynamic start-up. This is a great opportunity for a designer to learn more about the field, or for a writer to gain journalism experience. Our writers are frequently asked to contribute to other online design publications and magazines.

We are looking for writers who can commit to at least 1-2 posts a week, preferably 2-4 posts a week.

If you are still interested, please send an email about yourself to inhabitat@gmail.com, and attach your resume and one or two writing samples. Attachments or copy/paste jobs into the body of the email are both fine. In the email please tell us what interests you about design, what was your favorite Inhabitat post, and what you propose to cover as a writer for Inhabitat.

Dear Sir,
I’m really overwhelmed by seeing at your website and the fact that you are looking for young writers in the field of architectural journalism.
I am a graduate student in the dept., of architecture at the Mississippi State University as a part of my coursework i am writing a position paper on “Architectural Journalism - an aberrant medium of expressing architectural spaces”.
I have always been really fascinated with this beautiful blend of the the two creative lines - words and design.
Through my position i am trying to research on the historic timeline of architectural journalism - its historic evolution and also the present practice trends and styles.
i have tried really hard to search relevant material to support my research on the web as well as in various libraries, but haven’t been really fruitful.
It would be great if you could please suggest me some references like books, articles or scholar papers on the topic which i could refer to.
your kind efforts shall be highly appreciated and will go a long way in making this endeavor of my research a success.
waiting for a positive response,

Thanks and regards,
Shweta Kailani
