PREFAB NOW

by Sarah Rich

We meant to announce this one earlier, but for those of you who haven’t heard it elsewhere, Prefab Now is this weekend in LA. Hosted by Dwell Magazine and the Hammer Museum at UCLA, the event (as the title infers) is an exploration into the current state of prefab, with presentations, panels and a full day of home tours around LA.

The weekend kicks off with a reception at the Hammer’s current Jean Prouv exhibition, where the much touted Tropical House is on display in the courtyard. Other highlights will include presentations from the Buckminster Fuller Institute, Jennifer Siegel, Charlie Lazor and other stars of the prefab movement. Of course, this fabulous weekend is sold out, so you’ll have to read about it…
