The design of the French Quarter works. Not only is it charming, but it makes for wonderfully efficient living. When I need some cream for my coffee, I can practically walk in my robe to the corner store. In fact, there's very few reasons I ever need to get in my car. The design of these new houses should look to this model of urban design, not the suburban model. While we’re looking to the future, New Orleans is the perfect place to learn from the past.
