STEW DESIGN WORKSHOP’S MUON LAMP

Everyone likes an element of surprise: a twist at the end of a movie, a photo inside a locket, a jelly donut…this is why the unsuspecting block of plywood that is Stew Design Workshop’s Muon Lamp happens to be so delightful. Not only are the lights a surprise when they illuminate the wooden block like a skyscraper at night, but the pattern of the lights themselves is a surprise with the production of each lamp. The brilliant designers behind Stew wrote an algorithm that computer-generates a different pattern of light lines with each new piece, thus creating the extremely desireable combination of mass-production and one-of-a-kind design.
