I am in contract for purchasing the top floor of a brownstone that comes with roof rights in Brooklyn. Please tell me, is this a good idea for an old building with a recently new roof? As most new yorkers that live on the top floor, my new concern is leaks, mold, etc. What is the advantge of this sysytem compared to a roof with a potted plant garden? Thanks!

I love the idea of green roofs. I am in contract for purchasing the top floor of a brownstone that comes with roof rights in Brooklyn.
