FREITAG PATRIOTIC FOOTBALLS - recycled, green & vegan

by Jill Fehrenbacher

Freitag Footballs, Freitag, Shipping Container Store, Recycled Truck Tarpaulins, Recycled Design, Recycling in Design, Recycling in Architecture, Zurich, Green Design, Soccer, World Cup, Patriotic Footballs

In honor of the World Cup, Freitag has come out with some colorful patriotic footballs (or soccer balls as we like to call them in the U.S.). Not only is this a way clever idea (good time to capitalize on nationalism), but the footballs are eco-friendly too. Like everything else Freitag does, they are made out of recycled truck tarpaulins and are 100% vegan. Go team Freitag!

Are the footballs really vegan? Remember GM used alot of pigs in crash studies, and I suspect that they are not alone in such madness. Animals are used in all aspects of manufacturing. To dismantel something and breathe new life into what you have removed does not make a product free from its orgins…recycled by vegan processes might be a good description of the footballs. Would be nice to see more products made in such a way.

Peace,
James
