hey, how come nobody sees the problem with making walls out of polycarbonate plastic?
it’s made from petroleum (not sustainable). it leaches bisphenol-a, a carcinogen. what about the large amount of energy and money needed to produce it? then there is the problem with insulation. how much energy will be lost because it doesn’t provide good isulation? also, it looks really tacky.
sky-lights, windows and solar panels make much more sense.

I really like the green colour…. it’s definately sexy. And the idea is great too, natural sunlight is always the way to go.

Mr. Krapp,

It does indeed look similar because Nanogel-filled polycarbonate panels were used in both projects. The Duo-Gard project pictured is the Meditation Room in Blacksburg VA, designed by the Virginia Tech School of Architecture Design Team for ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. We worked with Joe Wheeler on that. That identifying information is proudly included in our photo caption, which isn’t always picked up when folks show illumaWALL.
