My husband and I own a home that was built in 1949. At the time it was sited for a year, primarily to make optimal use of the sun. The side of the house facing the sun is all glass and on sunny days, the house will heat up to high 70’s, naturally. It’s designed is Frank Lloyd Wright inspired - his two students, Anshen and Allen, built the house. They were also involved in the design of Eichler homes. The side of the house that is all glass also has an incredible views of Mt Tam. And, living in the house is like living with nature, all year round. As we look to do some remodeling of our house, we are very interested in energy efficiency and design.

Our home is from 1914 and would greatly benefit from an energy overhall!

Wow, I wish residents of Colorado were eligible for this! Denver metro has both significant heating and cooling demands, with great solar and wind availability. Most houses here, even new ones, aren’t built to be very energy efficient. My 56′ ranch with zero insulation in the walls and steel buck frame windows would be lovely for this:-)
I’ve put in an 98% HE furnace, and am trying to save for windows next while I dream of solar panels and tankless water heaters!!

Who can I lobby for contest like that here?
