T-SHIRT CONTEST: Last Chance to VOTE!

The race is on! In case you haven’t been paying attention to Inhabitat the last few days, we’ve opened our Green T-Shirt Design Competition up for voting, and we are getting a slew of opinions from you guys left and right. Three of our finalists have emerged in the lead: “I Give A Hoot,” “Global Greenery,” and “Tree/Root/Lungs/Heart” and it looks like its going to be a tight race! We’re counting on all you readers to weigh in during these final hours to help us pick the best design for Inhabitat.

We’d like to sincerely thank all of you who took the time to design and submit your ideas. You may notice that many of the finalists incorporated flora-inspired aesthetics - we found these to be most appropriate for Inhabitat’s current style and brand identity, as well as for printing feasibility. There were, however, a number of very impressive illustrations and other graphics that we would like to acknowledge for their concept and execution. From all of us at Inhabitat, thanks to everyone for your creativity and support!

I like the grafics. still, i find somethin ’s missing.
all of them trees, all of them green.

yet, green is not a colour.

Where would ‘inhabitat.com’ appear on these shirts ?

With changes, I think ‘Green = Good’, or ‘Green T-shirt with Vine design’ could work.

As far as ‘Green = Good’ is concerned, the changes are: (1) remove the top three big curve branches with the butterflies and bird on them. Keep the bottom 3 branches, with the stuff ‘inside’ the 3rd branch. (2) remove all bleed over printing onto the sleeve, (3) Remove ‘Green = Good’. (Who thinks green is bad ?) If something ‘Green’ must be said: ‘Green Design = Good Design’ could be considered (4) change ‘inhabitat’ to ‘inhabitat.com’ (4) Do not print this on a white shirt only. Offer it as a green on brown, or pale flourescent green on a black shirt as well. A lot of pople do not want to wear white T-shirts.

As far as ‘Green T-shirt with Vine design’, changes could be: (1) change out ‘inhabitat’ to ‘inhabitat.com’, (2) move entire design from left margin to right margin, ‘reversing’ the vines… so that the vine graphic flows left.

General: consider using the http://www.cafepress.com system to manufacture and sell your shirts. There would be no advance printing costs that way.

agree. nothing striking nor inspiring. it’s a throwback to the 80s-90s environmental movement. i’m looking for something that’s “green” but looks to the future…i am the root of the solution is similar to the 90s ‘rooting for the future’.. i must be getting old!

ok, so how about a design that mixes timeless environmental design with an inkling of the future’s green design?
