We certainly have large swaths of largely useless land where the sun shines much of the time and would make a perfect home for vast solar arrays. With government participation, the time-frame of returns becomes far less critical. Besides, U.S. (and other Western) businesses would be well-advised to take a page from the manual of Asian businesses -- and that of their shareholders. Folks here think of ROI in terms of *decades,* not the few *days* of a single quarter.

California and Arizona are really providing great leadership in the solar power field.

My home state is Texas, which has (surprisingly) moved aboard the movement towards alternate energy sources far more than I would have expected. How long will it take to pay off?
Good step though.

How much will this cost?<br

I was born and raised in the central valley. Now when I tell people that I'm originally from there I can say it with pride.

Wow… This is really exciting. foot-steps of California in creating wind and solar power plants instead of patching up the coal burning power plants. But, I am sure that the coal, oil and natural gas lobbyist have their hands deep into his pockets! Pennsylvania is better known as the "PAY TO PLAY" state.

I wish the Governor Pennsylvania, Ed Rendell would put “his money were his mouth is!” and follow in the<br
