No stand-over clearance and angles that suggest it would handle like a drunk monkey. The Kona Ute http://www.konaworld.com/08_ute_w.htm beats all the featured bikes in the practicality stakes.Sexy bikes are light, agile and handle responsively. Most of the bikes pictured are the ones that are marketed as 'bikes for people who don't like bikes', all well and good, but for those of us who commute medium to long distances (above 7kms each way) daily a quick road bike or cross country bike running slicks is going to win every time.PS that EV bike would be deadly in a cross wind. NEVER put a full disc on your front wheel if turning is something you plan to do regularly

That Skeppshult’s Z-bike looks like a nightmare. Not to mention the weight - I think it's about twice what my daily ride weighs [and no, it's not a "racing" bike]. I also don't care for the Z-bike. It might be attractive to some, but the rear end has a poor design, requiring more material to make it as strong as a more traditional frame design. Finally, :p to the Fisher. It might be good looking, but loading up the front basket with groceries will make it difficult to steer. It's more sensible to zip-tie a milk crate to a rear rack on a "regular" bike. Regardless of their sexiness, none of these bikes are particularly practical for your average NorAm cyclist. I would recommend an xtracycle [http://www.xtracycle.com/]. Convert almost any bike, carry huge loads and get major style points at the same time. With good fenders and appropriate attire, it's a car replacement enabler.

I’ve thrown a leg over the Jorg and Olif, and it’s a complete pig to ride at anything faster than ~15km/h. These things are more boring to look at than a fat chick in spandex. With the exception of the Z bike and the Puma, these are some uninspired and incredibly boring designs. "Sexy" was the wrong adjective to use in this story. I had a better looking Schwinn cruiser in the 80's (which was well preserved from the mid 50's and a bargain in someone's garage sale). These are like saying that a Nash Metropolitan is sexy and modern.

OK, I fail to see the sexiness here. sure that for every one here there are 20 or more out there that is of
equal quality. What impressed me the most was your last entry that
we should cruise the local bike shops and find a bike that fits out
needs, kudos to you for leaving a small carbon footprint. Thanks for being GREEN.PEACE
