C.L.A.S.S., which stands for creativity, lifestyle and sustainable synergey, is a new platform for the textile industry. A C.L.A.S.S. show is being held this weekend at WHITE, the cool new fashion trade show in Milan, and is dedicated to showing eco-friendly textiles.
WHITE represents a new voice in the fashion industry, one that acknowledges the need and significance for better and more beautiful environmentally friendly designs. Knowing that it all begins with raw materials, the trade show supports C.L.A.S.S. as a complementary platform to their own, allowing these materials to be reviewed out of sequence with conventional timing, encouraging contact with decision makers in order to ‘leapfrog’ expectations and possibilities.
Additionally, WHITE has developed SLOWHITE, a space dedicated to 11 international eco-fashion designers that are interpreting and living this vision. The participating designers include Del Forte Denim, From Somewhere, Katharine Hamnet, Kyuchi, Naturevsfuture, Noir, and Terra Plana.
With these additions, Milan broadens the reach of sustainable design and also highlights that textile manufacturers need to be as equally engaged as designers in the process of creating a sustainable future for fashion. Information about participating textile companies, such as Birla Cellulose, Ingeo and Filati Maclodio, will eventually be available on the C.L.A.S.S. website.
