Under the premise that “a person’s a person no matter how small”, DucDuc makes beautifully crafted children’s furniture that keeps even tiny ecological footprints to a minimum. The Austin Crib is a prime example of the company’s efforts toward forward thinking design for the newest members of the planet.

The Austin Crib’s hip aesthetic holds up with sustainably harvested hardwoods from regional forests to follow infant growth phases with four mattress height settings. And the best part… when fixed side rails are no longer needed, a conversion kit turns the crib into a bed fit for a growing toddler.

A focus on healthy materials brings the Austin Crib home in a wide variety of non-toxic lacquered paint and Hazardous Air Pollutant (HAPs) free finishes. In order to avoid volatile organic compounds VOCs and formaldehyde from disrupting sweet slumbers DucDuc does not use MDF or particle board in any products.

By using wood cut at a rate equal to or less than that of new plantings and remaining trees, DucDuc’s furniture focuses on more than a child’s first years. The collection allows for stylish interiors early in life without compromising the environment beyond the nursery walls.

The Soho-based design company owns and operates the factory where DucDuc pieces are made allowing full control over their manufacturing process and environmental impact while ensuring the quality of their workers’ health and wages. DucDuc’s social commitment extends to charitable giving - ten percent of all company profits go to children’s charities like Alex’s Lemonade Stand.

Stylish, sustainable and built with strong community, DucDuc’s Austin Crib makes it possible for all of us all to sleep a little sounder.

I like that it converts to a toddler bed too. For that price you should be able to use it for more than a year.

It is very good looking and I almost wish I was going to have another kid…..almost…
