SUSTAINABLE STYLE Boutique: Embodies
by Emily Pilloton
If you’re looking for a feel good shop that takes a thoughtful body-centric approach to sustainable style, Embodies might just be your new favorite retail locale. Owner Kenlynn Wilson, former designer and ballet dancer, takes an “eco lifestyle, inside and out” approach to her boutique and pilates/bodyworks establishment in Larkspur, Marin County, just north of San Francisco. Her lines include Inhabitat favorites Linda Loudermilk and Prairie Underground, with choice accessories from Josh Jakus, Red Flag, and global artisans. Kenlynn’s taste is flawless, and her products reflect both material and social sustainability, bringing comfortable and long-lasting pieces to the eco-minded consumer.
Embodies is having a holiday trunk show on December 6th, and is also looking for local designers’ work to represent! If you’re interested, contact Kenlynn here. And be sure to stop by Embodies on your next shopping trip- mention Inhabitat to get a 15% discount on purchases!

Trained as both ballet dancer and architect, Kenlynn’s goal for Embodies was to combine the sensibilities of the two to create a healthy, aligned, and centered body both inside and out. From her bodyworks programs to the amazing clothing, her approach exemplifies good green living- take care of your body on the inside, and clothe it in the best materials, sustainably manufactured, and socially just.
Product lines like Linda Loudermilk are on the more expensive end, while customer favorites like cotton Prairie Underground hoodies, Eco-ganik, Perfectly Imperfect, and Peligrosa are stylish and super-comfy basics. Accessory lines compliment the line perfectly, with design-savvy clutches from Josh Jakus, recycled sail bags from Red Flag, and recycled material jewelry.
Contact Kenlynn here if you’re a local designer (fashion, jewelry, etc) and interested in selling work at Embodies or at her upcoming trunk show. And stop by Embodies at 1127 Magnolia Ave in Larkspur (Marin), mention Inhabitat for a discount!
