We brought Baumm’s colorful recycled billboard bags to Inhabitat earlier this year after Emily discovered them in Buenos Aires. These one-of-a-kind accessories have once again grabbed our attention with an exciting launch of a new series available direct from District Cotton in NYC.

Designed by Rodrigo Chapero and Lukas Desimone, Baumm Bags upcycle used street and highway advertising banners into functional, fashionable art. A wide variety of styles offer a bag that meets any need from commuting to a day at the beach. We love that each piece is unique and that the journey from billboard to shoulder is done without further chemical processing of materials.

Baumm Bags are the perfect addition to District Cotton’s line which is filled with edgy organic apparel. Founded on the belief that fashion and conscience are intertwined, District Cotton holds labor and environmental concerns as top priorities and places a strict labor compliance policy on all goods sold. Rather than joining the “race to the bottom” the company is bringing Baumm’s sustainable style to U.S. customers with a user-friendly online interface that makes it easier for fans to become fashionable owners.

$54 and up, from District Cotton
