I, for one, drive many hills and do more than 150 miles per day sometimes in my regular car, so the Tesla would likely leave me stranded with a dead battery some time around 7pm in my day. This would extend the range just enough to get me home. They should definitely do a new clean-diesel generator instead of the gasoline one planned. If they did that, they could cut the size of the fuel tank in half and still extend the range a few hundred more miles.
