1 mile = +/- 1.609 kilometersIt means that 100 MPGe (MILES reached with 1 gallon of gasoline, not exactly energy) is equivalent to 42.5 km per liter, wich is not bad for a car if you compare with actual models.I'm sure there's a lot of inhabitt readers who are on metric system, I don't know if it is possible to do the conversion at the moment of writing articles. BTW, lots of free converters are available on the internet.Hope that helps too.

Scott,

1 U.S. Gallon = +/- 3.785 liters<br

The equivalent is the amount required of a different fuel, to generate that same amount of energy. So for, for instance, you only need .88 gallons of diesel to generate the same amount of energy as 1 gallon of gasoline.Hope that helps.

Scott,

Miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) is the amount of energy generated by one unit gallon of gasoline. I assume that it has to do with kWh or however the manufacturers measure their batteries. This is a great blog BTW, i would like if it got a little more techinical when possible though.
Thanks!

What exactly is a mpg equivalent? I assume that it has to do with kWh or however the manufacturers measure their batteries. This is a great blog BTW, i would like if it got a little more techinical when possible though.<br
