Spring may have sprung, but we’re still captivated by the lofty lilt of this “Mora” fallen leaf mobile by San Francisco based Brian Schmitt. We’ve been longtime fans of Brian’s work, ever since we first discovered his beautiful eco-friendly Adrift Mobiles back in 2005. His lighter-than-air creations perfectly balance sleek forms with sustainable construction, and he’ll be exhibiting a collection of pendants and mobiles for the first time at this year’s ICFF.

Mobiles are all about balance, and we love how Brian Schmitt’s fine forms lend an implicit message for sustainability to his medium. Each minimalist mobile is constructed with an admirable environmental credo, using a variety of sustainable materials including FSC certified cherry veneer and natural and amber bamboo. Schmitt individually balances his mobiles and finishes them with a non-toxic natural oil finish, and they are designed to easily disassemble in order to minimize packaging and shipping.

We’ll be sure to swing by his booth at ICFF, so stay tuned for an update with photos from the floor!
