With fuel prices continuing to soar, the appeal for electric vehicles has never been higher. Eyeing a timely entrance to a tapped out market, Norwegian car manufacturer THINK has just announced that the Think City Car is coming to the US! These super efficient tiny cars will be hitting the streets of North America, where Think hopes to entice consumers with a reasonable price tag and freedom from gas-guzzling gargantuans.

The Think Car is a small compact electric vehicle that is capable of running up to 100km/hr and can go 180km on one charge. It’s cost will run about $25,000, making it the perfect vehicle for the urban dweller. At the moment, the Think City is the only vehicle from the Oslo-based manufacturer to be commercially available in the US. However plans exist to introduce a SUV crossover, called the Ox. To make the drive across the pond and come to the US, Think is partnering with an array of capital investment firms, better known for creating Silicon Valley startups.

It’s a start but why buy one when you can get a cityZENN next year with its 400 km range, 125kph speed, 5 minute recharge, and infinite recharge cycle thanks to its ultracapacitor? Not to mention future retrofit kits for your favourite auto. http://www.zenncars.com But as earthshaking as it is I won’t believe it until I see it, even if Lockheed Martin /has/ already signed contracts with them. I’m just hoping that EEStor’s EESU is everything they say it is because it will change everything. We’ll find out soon enough.

it’s a really nice looking car, but the big question with these guys is whether they’re bringing over that stupid monthly “mobility fee” and if so how much it will be. $25000 is not so bad, but $25k plus $200 a month would be a joke. all the older press on this subject mentions the fee and the newer press omits any reference to it.

Yeah, yeah.. We got oil, forest, fish, cheseslizer, boat industry, Henrik Ibsen, tourism from Japan, Turbongr, REC(largest sola-cell industry in the world..)celebs with roots in Norway like Olsen twins++ blah blah blah blah…. And now we got Petter Stordalen with his new ownership in Think…..

Newer liked Petter Stordalen but I stil hope he can get Think more known again after it was bought and sold by Ford. The car is made of plastic, how eco-friendly is that?… Not sure but I don’t think Think is made out of recycled materials. Here in Norway it costs 250.000 NOK = 50.000 USD so don’t cry if you think the Think is less for the money where you live, you can get the non eco-friendly Ford Mustang GT for that price.

Just hope they will use carbonfirbe or fibreglass in their next version.. R.I.P. Troll, which was a manifucturer we had several years ago but went bankrupt because our “red-green” goverment wanted Russian cars instead.
Troll was super efficent fuel cars by the way.

$25,000 for a car or $3000 for a Dutch cargo bike. Hmmm….

A guy I worked with about 5 years ago had a Think car when Ford was leasing them in California. Neat car, but I just can\’t justify spending money to own a car anymore.

I think the “Think” is one of the more impressive efforts to produce a practicle and affordable electric car. There will undoubtedly be much better and cooler electric cars in 2015, 2020 and 2025 but first there must be the equivalent of the model T. It seems to me this may be one and I will give it a very close look when available. Do not fail to consider the SE USA as a possible site for production, excellent ports, transportation, competitive labor. All in a very exciting prospect that has my attention.

\”clairsearch\” you\’re either an ignorant novice or part of an insider ring of promoters of EEStor. This just defies the laws of physics for the known materials. Everything suggests this is another Cold Fusion, perpetual motion scam. Poor suckers who put in money into this venture. Ultra-caps will be around for a while, but believe the specs EEStor is claiming. This is bound to be a scam or a real disappointment or something worse. Investors in EEStor can kiss their money goodbye.
