Flatpack Double Stray Lights by Inga Sempé

Smooth, sleek, sharp, and made entirely from paper, Inga Sempé’s Double Stray Lights for Artecnica, require no assembly and arrive flat packed. There’s not much we don’t love about these elegant paper lamps. Their ability to be so incredibly sophisticated, while retaining a tactile, vulnerable quality, has us absolutely captivated. Arriving compact, the Double Stray unfolds accordion-style to light up interiors with an intentional moiré pattern that gives both structure and ambiance.
Inspired by the delicate glow of a Chinese rice paper lantern, Paris based Sempé works with linear and airy themes while retaining an integral structural aesthetic. Her previous collections include design gems such as the High Pleated Lamp for the celebrated Italian brand Cappellini in 2002, the cheeky analogue versus digital wall Clock 2000, which Sempé holds a patent for, and the Table La Chapelle which won a ‘Furniture of the Year Award 2008′ in January from Swedish publication Sköna Hem.
Known for their sustainable manufacturing approach, Artecnica are hot favorites here at Inhabitat. We loved Tord Boontje’s tranSglass recycled glass tableware collection last year. We are excited to see Inga Sempé in this year’s truly inspired collection.
