Pittsburgh resident, I am proud to say that this little city is not nearly the dark and dingy, smoked out steel town it once was. We have a considerable amount of LEED certified buildings, over 52 fresh air farmers markets sprinkled around town, tons of running/biking trails along the rivers, kayaking on the rivers, breweries abound, and a pretty rad little art scene! (come see Werner Hertzog's new film Encounters at the End of the World) For an urban center the trees and greens abound; and with such beautiful and modern structures juxtaposed against the Art Deco architecture of Carnegie, Mellon, and Frick the urban landscape is quite something to appreciate.
