Bumbershoot kicks off this today, bringing three days of music, art, comedy, and film to Seattle! This year the Emerald City festival is going green in a big way by boasting an entirely carbon neutral production and offering offset purchases for visitors via NetGreen. Hydration stations, biofuel generators, and signage repurposed into tote bags represent just a few of the festival’s sustainable features.

With the goal of of decreasing environmental impact while supporting art, music, culture and the local community, Bumbershoot always gets a crowd moving and motivated, rain or shine. The festival opens Saturday and runs through Monday with headliners including Beck, The Stone Temple Pilots, and Death Cab for Cutie.

In addition to the festival’s carbon-neutral clout, Bumbershoot will be rolling out the three R’s (reduce, reuse, recycle) in full effect, exploring green sources of power, and will feature an exhibition of thought-provoking eco art. Stay tuned for more coverage throughout the week!
