Lots of people are feeling the pinch of the souring economy and cutting back their holiday spending. It may smart a little, but now is a prefect time to rethink your consumption habits and find more economical and eco-friendly ways to celebrate holiday giving this year. Cutting back on buying things is great way to go a bit more green. One great idea that we’ve spotted recently is renting toys for your kids instead of buying them with a clever company called RentAToy.

Ha ha, ajychau your comment made me grin – but I wonder if you are speaking from experience?
My own daughter (6 y.o.) has two problems with her toys – at least they are my problems with her toys :) One: she leaves a toy on the shelf for a year and doesn’t play with it. Two: She does play with a toy actively, and then sets it aside forever. — Actually, these are her problems too, because she actually wants more variety than can fit in her room.
I’m going to try this service for my 6-month-old.

Hey Jimmy Merry Christmas! Open up your present!
A toy car! Thanks mum!
That’s right Jimmy, a toy car, you only have 8 hours left to play with it though, and don’t scratch it, and don’t put it in the water, and don’t draw on it…infact, give it back to me.
How about we just by more thoughtful and useful presents?
