Use all you want as long as it's clean and renewable. The electricity that they are selling us is on an out dated grid and we are at their mercy. Thus the need for energy conservation.
The problem with letting them monitor our every watt is that eventually monitoring will turn into control. They will want to stop you from using certain things during peak loads. (ex:flushing toilets in Austrailia, or watering your lawn in L.A.) Maybe they wont let you use your major appliances during specific times. Eventually they will decide they don't like other things you do. Then it will have went from monitoring to control and censorship. Beware of what you ask for. The answer isnt to monitor and regulate our energy. It is to stop depending on sources that are controlled, outdated, and limited just to fatten someones pockets. Make energy sources like the sunlight available to everyone. There is enough sunlight poured down on earth in one minute to provide enough power for all the planets energy demands for a year. And best of all it's free!

I’m all for energy and lots of it!!! Use all you want as long as it’s clean and renewable. Using a technology like this where you can easily see your usage in conjunction with the current price of electricity and the cost savings potential is even greater.Check out our program at http://www.powersmartpricing.org. But what I do not like is that Google knows everyting about you at the end. What do you search, read, where do you live, your work, where you go on vacation, who do you call, send mail, and now also where you are at the present time. There are plenty of options for viewing and mapping your energy. Without the intervention of your energy supplier our Google.
Why not improve your entire view of consumption such as gas, water and electricity.
Without the interference of Google and energy companies using the information for their own purpose.Soon, Google becomes the energy supplier?

The idea is great and will certainly work.
