This is not true for PC computers (wheter they run Windows or Linux) in many cases, especially with desktop computers. I am still a strong believer that going green, should be the normal way of doing things and not done simply for publicity. The simple fact that Apply has voluntarily chosen to go green is great news. I am sure most people purchasing their computers don't even care about sustainability - design is seems to be the big seller. I have to agree with the first commenter, it a good start. With that said, there does need to be some monitoring of companies going green. Great story to raise awareness. I would however like to mention that on the Apple site http://www.apple.com/mac/green-notebooks/ they have indeed claimed to be "Green Notebooks" and that the the Macbook is "The greenest family of notebooks" not as you have said "the greenest laptop".While these are just words I still feel they can be commended for finally taking steps toward using less chemicals and reducing footprints.
