The officer just needs to radio the cars description and direction headed and it is pretty tough to get away from the NYPD or any police dept for that matter. Add a helicopter above and the criminal doesn"t have much chance. Personnelly, I hope to never see a police vehicle in any pursuit with 100 mph chase. What cops need are patrol cars that will actually catch crooks. I can think of dozens of cars that'll blow the Altima away; they'll need to keep the Chargers just for real pursuit. Not a smart idea!
