DROOG DESIGN Opens Up Shop in NYC!

by Jill Fehrenbacher, 02/25/09

DROOG DESIGN Opens Up Shop in NYC, Droog Design Store Opening, Droog NYC, Droog Design New York, Renny Ramakers, Jurgen Bey, Tejo Remy

We’ve waxed lyrical many times about our love for Dutch design, and no organization better represents the idea of ‘Dutch Design’ than world famous Amsterdam-based collective Droog Design. So you can imagine how excited we were when we got wind of the fact that Droog was planning to open up shop here in New York City.

The new store, which opens this Thursday at 76 Greene Street in SoHo, is Droog’s second store outside of its hometown (the other is in Tokyo) and was designed by Jurgen Bey, who we’ve featured before on Inhabitat. Expect a store full of witty, conceptual — and occasionally impractical — furniture from top Droog designers, including Inhabitat fave Tejo Remy. We’re getting a sneak preview today ahead of tonight’s launch party, so we’ll be sure to have loads of pics for you soon.
