I need Loyale’s eco-friendly bikini because I have been looking for an eco-friendly swimsuit for a year but the best options (like Loyale’s gorgeous creations) are way out of my price range. The bikini is beautiful and I would be more than thrilled to have it. Make a college student’s month?

SHill
SHill Says:

Looks like my first comment didn’t go through. I need Loyale’s eco-bikini for three reasons: 1. because it is fabulous and would fill a gaping hole in my wardrobe, 2) to prove that environmentally friendly fashion is more sexy than anything else, and 3) because I would never be able to afford it on my own. Make a poor college student’s month?

aplambeck Says:

I need one because my partner and I are both poor college students who do all the right things (biking, eating veg, etc.). She doesn’t have a swimsuit that fits her, and she’s been talking about buying a one-piece! To cover up her beautiful body with one of those would be like putting a tarp over the Mona Lisa. Help us (and our community) out by providing her with that sexy bikini. Please!

I love Loyale! Their clothes are so cute, simple yet sophisticated. I love that they think about the things that I care about when it comes to eco-friendly fashion and lifestyle. Plus, this bikini is HOT! Congratulations to them being featured in VOGUE. I haven\’t purchased a new bikini in years and am way overdue, since I\’ve been hitting the gym and working hard, having a different look to compliment my new body would be a dream!

I don’t need this for me, but for my partner. She works incredibly hard and we’re both full-time students. We do everything we can to help the planet: eating veg, biking, conserving, composting, etc. She doesn’t have a swimsuit that fits, and she’s been talking about trying to find a one-piece for cheap. Excuse me, but a cheap one-piece would do nothing to display her beautiful physique. Please help!

Ohh, I need a new swimsuit so badly! I’m definitely looking forward to June’s Vogue! =D

i need a new bikini since i lost some weight after turning vegetarian and moving to a 6th floor walkup. my old swimsuit doesn’t fit anymore.

Great color, and I want to win! :)

I have a few reasons why i would like to receive a beautiful bathing suit. The first would be my husband and i are trying to have a baby and the only way that will happen is throw IVF and are first 2 rounds of it did not work out, need i need to say this is very expensive. Second would be i love to look good for my hubby and last we live and play green.

I love Loyale\\\’s efforts to slow down the fashion industry without sacrificing great design. They have a great, fresh image: true leaders in future fashion. I myself have a draw full of mismatched, mangled bikinis, and would love to sport Loyale\\\’s eco bikini this summer.

I would be really interested to know where they are made also……….

Thanks for all of your comments so far – keep ‘em coming!

Yuka Yoneda

Hi CJBurns,

The suit is made right in New York City and the workers that make it are paid fair living wages.

I agree that $120 is pretty pricey (especially being a writer living in NYC), but I also feel like knowing that so much care and attention went into making sure the people who make the garment are compensated fairly is worth something to me. Jenny works really hard thinking of ways to make her clothes as good on the inside as they are on the outside, so in a way, her customers are paying for her ideas and effort – not just the actual fabric which I admit you don’t get much of here!

I have a pretty limited budget myself, but I like to think that when I do spend, I am using my dollars as votes, so I’m willing to splurge to support something I believe in.

Thanks so much for reading and good questions!

I need a gorgeous new eco-friendly bikini because I live in Portland, OR, and only have a small window of summer weather fueled opportunities to wear it. I will get every cent worth, and it will last forever, making me think fondly of Inhabitat and Loyale for a long time to come.

I love that Loyale are the people to talk to when Vogue wants to revive a design. I\’m lovin\’ Loyale\’s Philosophy that\’s on their web page and hope it influences other companies to have the same attitude. I\’m quite pleased that a company like this is in the spotlight, proving that being green can be uber sexy *and* eco-friendly *and* traded fairly! I want to give that bikini to my gorgeous girlfriend who is turning a new \’green\’ leaf for me and because she is uber sexy!

User Gravatar

I don’t need this bikini, for 2 reasons. First of all, I’m a male, and I’m not sure that it would compliment my figure. Secondly, I’m an architecture student, and am not allowed to leave the studio. I do, however, have a newlywed bride, who would make this bikini look way hotter than Gisele could ever look. Summer is rapidly approaching, and with it the few months of sunshine that we see in Eugene, Oregon, and 2 months off for me to spend with my bride at the coast. Since I’m here studying ecological design, its only fitting that she wears one.

I ABSOLUTELY need this bikini because (besides being eco friendly) I am a competitive swimmer and all I have is my professional swimsuit outfit which… wouldn’t look right on a beach… :( did I mention that I’ve never been to any beach in a proper swimsuit outfit? Haha just shorts, skirts, and the likes… :/

User Gravatar

Not sure I would be able to rock this suit like Gisele does, but always makes me feel good to support designers that create ethical, eco-conscious and gorgeous fashion lines. It really is so important. We have the power to change the fashion industry by investing in clothing with a conscience. Thanks so much for posting!

User Gravatar

WOW! What a beautiful swimsuit! Would love to win it… perfect color and perfect looking just for this perfect post :) jk

thanks for the consideration!!

My wife surely deserves to win this swim suit because she has been working very hard to promote her \”green\” website. Her website and blog give people ways to live more \”green\” in their every day lives. She has also been swimming a lot lately while working as a volunteer swim instructor and working out to get in shape for summer. She would look great in this swim suit. She is a perfect candidate to win the Loyale\’s eco bikini.

User Gravatar

For quite some time now I have been slowly convincing friends and family to become earth friendly. Pointing out the long term positives, and the small steps that can be taken daily. Finally, after a couple rants and demonstrations, the people around me have clued into how important being eco-friendly is. This bathing suit will not be worn without me telling (alright, maybe bragging) about how eco-chic it is! My friends will definitely be jealous of its soft cotton and non-harsh dyes AND its uniqueness; not to mention the fact the most famous supermodel is sporting it in the new Vogue. I’m going to go out on a limb and say my recent Alternative Energy Graduate (yes, we are a green couple!) boyfriend may appreciate it as well. I’m currently sporting a suit made by my fashion design student cousin, and although it’s beautiful, the threads are starting to give! I feel that $120 is nothing since many pay around that price for suites made by sweatshops, or imported from 3rd world countries. I would gladly pay that much knowing how much time and care were put into it’s creation, it’ll make you wear it proudly! I promise you’d be giving this to a girl who truly deserves it. Green is sexy – I’m the perfect candidate to prove that..
Oh, and green is my favourite colour ☺

User Gravatar

I’d love to bathe in eco-chic design,
the color and style make me feel so fine
to be seen in such a Loyale little suit.
And to think, it’s green friendly to boot!

User Gravatar

This architecture/design graduate student would sport this savvy bikini, especially while sporting her studies/ fascination/ experimentation in innovative/salvaged materials/waste.

woodlandsgorsedd

I love this bikini! I’ve been working for about two years now to become more eco-friendly. Our family has gone vegetarian, learned to compost, and we recycle like crazy! I can’t think of a better way to keep going green than to green my wardrobe!!!!

Plus, I showed the bikini to my husband and asked if he thought it would look nice on me. He says he loves it and it’ll look great on the floor! Must be a winner!!!!!!! ;P

Just wanted to add — it looks like this article is up on two web pages on your site. The other one has broken comments or something, ’cause when I tried to post the first time it didn’t show. Then I followed a link to this posting of the article, and it’s working fine. Wouldn’t want anyone’s comment’s to be lost. On the main Inhabitat page, you can see two posts of this article, one above the other. The one further down the page seems to have the broken comments.

Thanks!

Loyale is altruisticlly taking an ecological stance and advocating awareness. You couldn\’t ask for more from a company that has carefully chosen what goes into every aspect of their products. Cotton is what goes onto our skin from our first day and needs to be organic. We and our environment deserve to be toxin free. I agree with all the comments posted before mine since each of us taking green steps always gives me hope. I was satisfied to finally hear that low impact dyes are being used because that\’s also vital to putting less chemicals into our waters.
I wish I could persuade more heads to turn and notice how beautiful it can be wearing this bikini! Got to love it :D

a) i’m starting a radical housing collective in wilmington, nc and have been reading inhabitat for some time now to get rad ideas to green up the space and, well, make it radical! i’m putting a lot of time, work, and energy into this adventure so it will be nice to take a break at the beach in this eco-friendly number. and b) i finally live near the beach after being landlocked for the majority of my life. so i can actually utilize this lovely swimwear to its fullest!

There are two reasons I need this bikini:
1. For the first time in my life I am a size two (I think I skipped it on the way up)! I dropped many dress sizes over the winter and I need a new bikini to show off my awesome new body.
2. I am now an avid rock climber and if you know anyone in the community, you know we are all about leaving no trace and living a green lifestyle. What better way to do that then to show off an awesome eco bikini?

User Gravatar
tammhill Says:

I’m in desperate need for this bikini because I’ve been trying to cycle my wardrobe out of “Typical” wear, and into greener, more earth-friendly wear. This bathing suit, along with being the cutest I’ve seen, is a perfect addition to help that cycle along. Of my close circle of friends, I’m the only one who tries to stick to the greener lifestyle. I don’t have a car (by choice), so I walk and bike everywhere, and when we do need to travel longer distances, I arrange car pools. I work in the food industry, and I’m in the process of trying to get the corporation to be more environmentally friendly, starting by switching from styrofoam take-out containers to the compostable Eco-Products containers.

I’m very earth-friendly, and I would love to be able to keep that up by sporting this gorgeous eco-bikini.

Thank you for the consideration =)

I spend the entire year waiting for summer and the first day I can go to the beach. I love feeling the hot sand between my toes, and walking into the crashing waves. It is truly powerful, all these forces and natural wonders around us that have been here for thousands of years, and hopefully many, many more if we do our part. It makes me realize that this Earth is a beautiful and blessed gift and that we really need to do more to make sure we don\\\\\\\’t take it for granted. I guess that on such an occasion it doesn\\\\\\\’t really matter what I\\\\\\\’m wearing. But how nice to have one more reminder, especially one crafted by man, that we care and that we can make a difference. A little bit at a time.

I would looove a chance to own this bikini! It is such an awesome idea to have eco friendly clothing and swimwear! I am from New Zealand and almost every bikini in the swimwear stores over here is an expensive Austrailian surf label or a cheaply made other. My mum turns 50 this August and she has shouted myself and my sister our first trip out of NZ to tropical Rarotonga. Unfortunately it is winter time over here now and no stores are stocking bikini’s anymore so I am worried what I am going to wear when I hit the beach. It would be fantastic to be able to strut my stuff in an amazing Eco friendly bikini!
You would make my winter! ;)

Loyale’s the best place to shop! The ease of finding what I want always! I have just recently recovered from an illness and have gone from a size 14 to a size 4, maybe a size 2 now. I live 2 blocks from the Ocean in Myrtle Beach, SC and have not been able to go to the beach for lack of swim attire (used to be because I was so sick). Going to the beach helps me heal and to give thanks to God for keeping me around on this gorgeous earth he created! This is why I absolutely NEED this eco-bikini for this swim season. God Bless and have a Awesome Day!

As an ECO-Friendly artist – I recover Tree Bark from trees that have been struck by lightning – preserve and carefully transform into either a lighted wall sconce or a table lamp.

I am in need of this swimsuit because, I not only need something to wear at my next showing but, as an eco-friendly artist – the more I can promote healthy living in a newly eco fashion and promote Inhabitat!

I love the fact this bikini has great eco attributes and that it is crafted in NYC. I am really trying to buy clothing that is eco conscious and well made to last. It would be my first Loyale piece. The best part for me is, I love this color! It is my favorite color for swimwear and I really wanted to purchase something similar to it for the summer. Only problem for me is that I have to save my money for graduate architecture school @ sci-arc, where I am about to start in the fall, and its rather expensive. Splurging on this seems crazy, so I would be so delighted to win it!

I live in LA and work for an eco conscious architecture firm. I am pleased to lead a sustainable lifestyle and work with like minded people. If I win this bikini, it will see plenty of sun and beaches here in California! I would be happy to spread the \’Loyale\’ word for sure when I wear it!

Thanks Inhabitat for being so cool, btw.

What’s not to love about Loyale clothing! Loyale is all about eco friendly chic-ness! Jenny Hwa designed this super hot bikini using organic cotton; which does not contain any toxic chemicals. Loyale’s clothing is made in the USA; which helps our national economy. The best part is that a portion of the Loyale proceeds go to Green Corps, a non- profit ecological support facility! I would love to own the chic eco-friendly Barstow Bikini, so I can strut my eco-hottie bodie this summer!

I live in a beach city so half of the time I wear bathing suits as underwear! If I were the proud owner of a Loyale bathing suit I wear it until it pretty much falls apart… too much information maybe? But I do like wearing bathing suits under my daily wear- it’s comfortable, breathable and helps me cut down quite a bit on the amount of clothing I own. It also allows me to head to the beach and play in the water or sit in the sun whenever the mood strikes me. Although… I actually haven’t been to the beach in ages.

I live only a few miles away from the beach in sunny socal, but I attend university full time in addition to being enrolled in 3 other certificate programs at the community college. I’m constantly out (sometimes for 12+ hours a day), but this term I’m completing a couple of my certificate programs so I can finally relax a bit! I haven’t been swimming for awhile and have the body of a untoned 12 year old boy (sitting/sleeping in all those long hours of lecture have taken their toll), but the Loyale bikini is super cute (the shape and color are very flattering), so I won’t feel as self conscious about my weird body, plus at the same time I can feel good about wearing a product from a company that knows whats up and operates like a good company should!

Whether or not I actually have a shot at owning this, thanks for reminding me that summer is coming up. It’s time to dust off the old bike and pedal to the beach and sit in the sand. With or without a Loyale bathing suit, it will be awesome (though of course a Loyale suit would certainly increase the awesome-ness)!

My need for the bikini is quite simple, and altruistic, if you think about it. My fiance and I are going to Mexico for our wedding this summer.
