As the mercury rises, there is nothing better than retreating into a cool, air-conditioned room — but between toxic coolant gases and energy use, what does a cooling system cost the environment? Fortunately, a group supported by Design London have been working on a natural cooling system that provides comfort without the negative impact to the environment. With a sleek and contemporary look, Artica has a pleasing silhouette that is remarkably similar to a ceiling fan. The product itself is made of recycled materials and uses less than 10% of the energy that a conventional air system uses. We are quite curious to learn how Artica works, but it is still in its prototype phase, and it’s scheduled to launch this October — we can’t wait!
