This noon solar book bag is one awesome concept!

No matter where I am I will have power for my laptop or your netbook. Just imagine sitting in the park while working on that urgent assignment. There will be no need to worry about the battery running down. Freedom just took on another meaning, and that meaning will make it possible to expand horizons in a most positively wonderful manner.

All of my friends are going to envy me for being the proud owner of a noon solar book bag. I will get to tell everyone of my new found freedom. Good bye electrical cords. Hello world here I come!

You were wondering why should I be the right person for this save_the_planet smart things?
Well, as you probably have read in last 100 posts, the most of these people are architects and designers. I am too. But what makes a difference?

I live in a small country on the Balkan Peninsula. This is the last green oasis of Europe, despite all the wars and lack of awareness about environmental conservation. In this environment every step towards education of people is important.

This bag or shirt will not only be a part of my clothes, but also devices for learning. If you send a set of green goodies far from big cities where people, while I write this, are sorting garbage, saving electricity and a fulling battery of their electric car, you will create a small step for you but great for the planet.

Therefore I promise that if you send these green goodies in my hands, they will travel across my country and spread the story about the preservation of the planet, respect for nature and everything that it makes every day for us.

Ever heard of sunny South Africa?! This is where I try to make a living. Last year we had massive power cuts because our country has run out of power generation capacity to keep up with the economic, urban and population growth. Our state-run power utility plans at least three huge new coal-powered power plants, which is totally in conflict with Inhabitat’s mission of a smarter and more sustainable future. But we have lots of sun all year round and this Solar Bag will help me personally to manage my energy needs better, and show my fellow citizens how to think out of the box when it comes to design and energy consumption. One small bag for me, one giant Green idea for mankind. Please let me have it!

I absolutely NEED a NoonSolar bsg for my back to school routine because:

a. it would be a stepping stone in my efforts to raise awareness and promote sustainability and the eco environment amongst my fellow peers- who currently view the issue of green designs and sustainability as purely conceptual and only for scientists. it is with the stylish NoonSolar bag that i can have help with changing this mind set. (i hope it can charge ones phone on the road)

b. the idea- shows dynamic ways of saving energy. we can save energy through how we use alost anything. as a young designer, this idea has opened up another window of insight. wishing to educate other young designers as well. (i come from Botswana- Southern Africa. currently studying Interior design in Malaysia)

c. Who would not want to have that bag! inhabitat has opened doors to the most awesome stuff- simple yet practical. its tomorows bag today- which means i would never have to buy another school bag, and in bragging about it NoonSolar should be getting requests for more!!!

So I will be honest, I’m not a student anymore but have transitioned into a teacher. I also have my own design and print business. I typically bike or commute using the local transit system and am in dire need of a way to keep my business phone charged at all hours of the day as I am constantly going back and forth between campus and my studio. This bag would be the ultimate solution to keep my business afloat while I train the future designers and environmentalists of our next generation! The supplies are something I would share with my students as to keep them working creatively without the distraction of finances. All the while, I think this bag being toted around our fair capital city of Nebraska would promote a much needed shift in ideals about how we generate power and also perhaps consume energy.

I’ve been saving up to have a solar panel installed on the roof of my studio to operate one of our printing presses but while I wait for that piggy bank to get smashed, this bag and it’s fillings would be a great distraction!

I am an architect and I specialize in Environmental Design of Buildings.
I am an active recycler an I am member of the Anelixis.Org in Greece.

I am always trying to convince my clients and my friends to follow ecology and sustainable living in general.
I am trying to convince my clients that renewable energy sources are our only hope for the future of this world that we’re living and that if we all take advantage of them in our houses things will be much better, our life will become more environmentally friendly and our life expences will be dramatically reduced.

Everyone is always looking for the easiest and the harmless way to do things.
Well…
If I get an NoonSolar tote Bag, I will be speaking with evidence!
By demonstratingthe NoonSolar Bag I will show them many things we can do by using solar energy and renewable energy sources in general. It will be absolute evidence!!
People don’t believe something until they see it with their bare eyes!! They won’t be able to support that solar power costs (because solar pannels are still expensive here in Greece). There are a lot of good reasons to win this bag:
1. I always forget my phone at home, cause I’ve to charge the batteries!
2. I’m a geek and I’d like to be an eco-geek.
3. Walking aound in my little town in Italy with that bag would be a good sample for all the italian fashion addicted chicks.
4. For the first time in my life, my girlfriend could look at me with envy.
5 … n I’ve never won anything usefull.

Inhabitat,
Its interesting that you want us to write about how we “NEED” this bag. We tend to have everything that we need, specially if we can afford to go to school. Now on the other hand we as a collective society definitely need to be more proactive on saving the environment. With that said these bags are a great way to help us do that.

I’m going to write a short bit on why I “WANT” this bag. I try to be as green as possible within my financial constraints. Here are my two most significant green endeavors I have accomplished in the last two years. The first was I hand built a hydrogen generator for my fathers truck because I hated how the truck got such low gas mileage. And the second is still a work in progress. I bought a VW Golf TDI (diesel) and I’m saving up for the vegetable oil conversion kit.

I try to spread the word about green living through my words and more importantly through my actions. This bag will not only give my friends another reason to role their eyes but more importantly it will hopefully get people to take me more seriously when I talk about being green.

I’d love to win this award, because I live in a third world country and here energy is very expensive. I´m an Architect and I am very concerned about sustainability issues and have the mission to make all my friends and future customers to choose renewable energy for their lives and could lead by example and encourage them to invest in this type of energy.
I am currently unemployed and spend all day on the street handing out resumes, so I would be very good to recharge my cell phone and carry my notebook with no problems while I consult the job offers.

I teach the lighting course for an interior design program. My class is currently working on a collaborative lighting project with students from the art and engineering depts. I am putting together a presentation on sustainability to inspirte the teams as they work on this project and I found your website as a result. I love it!

My grandmother, who is now 95, taught elementary school for 32 years and she was a champion of green living, not polluting, etc. by in the early 70’s. She was my inspiration and I would love the NoonSolar bag to inspire my students.

i’m a freshmen starting high school and i would love this back pack. i try my best to make the world a better place by saving electricity and not polluting by asking for a ride to school. i believe that America can be a eco friendly country if people just take the time to help. the noon star back pack runs on solar energy, and i think that if we can get other kids my age to go green they can make the world a better place when they grow up and have that kind of power. i have a class that has a Guinness book of world records. while i was looking thought it i saw that America is the largest consumer of energy. if we could change are energy source from fossil fuel to a no polluting source such as solar energy we could be a better country. if we can interpret a different energy source in to Americas youth we can be a better world. once people pick up the idea that they can make a difference they will willingly continue to help the environment. not many kids realize that they are the next generation, and think what kind of world do i want my kids growing up in, do i want a polluted world with smog filling the sky, and a bigger hole in the ozone layer, or do i want a night sky filled with stars, fresh air, and a better environment to live in. now i know that all this won’t happen by me getting a solar power back pack, but the power of voice is a strong thing. i tell my friends, they tell their other friends, and they tell their parents, and they go to work. spreading the word of a renewable energy source all the time. also kids have friends in other states, pen pals, and the internet. if people spread the word more people will join in in saving energy.
