Flying Sailboat Soars Through the Sky On Solar Power

Ever wished you could sail through the sky? Designer Damien Grossemy wants to make that dream a reality with his Zep’lin, a flying sailboat designed for Renault. The vertically-built Zep’lin concept features solar panels and on-board lithium ion batteries to store extra energy as it soars up above.

According to the designer, Renault is planning a race around the world in a zeppelin in 2015 as a promotional tool for its line of electric cars. The Zep’lin is Grossemy’s attempt to build a light, aerodynamic structure for the race. No word on whether Grossemy’s design will actually be chosen, but the electric vehicle looks like a fun ride to us! Check out a video of the Zep’lin in action below.
