A Better World by Design Conference Kicks Off This Weekend!

Heads up green designers, entrepreneurs, and forward thinkers from all disciplines! This weekend sustainability luminaries from around the world are convening in in Providence, Rhode Island for A Better World by Design, a conference demonstrating how design, technology, and enterprise can be focused towards reshaping our communities and sustaining our environment. The event takes place at the campuses of Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design from Friday October 2nd – Sunday, October 4th.

We’re looking forward to talks by sustainability-focused architect Stefan Behnisch of Behnisch Architekten and Emily Pilloton of Project H Design, a live One Hour Design Challenge hosted by our friends at Core77, and the kickoff of Project M’s (blank)LAB tour. Dwell on Design 2009 is This Month!

Dwell on Design is back in Los Angeles this month, showcasing an incredible array of modern design from June 26-28. Now in its sophomore year at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the three-day design festival brings together the best and brightest from the design industry to offer visitors “real live modern design” in the form of an expansive exhibition, design conference, home tours and special events. For fans of all things sustainable, we’ve scoured the schedule to find the show’s green highlights. Guardian Climate Change Summit 2009

In the midst of the current global economic crisis, many businesses stand to lose sight of sustainability goals as they focus upon the meeting the bottom line and keeping their staff in employment. However there has never been a more critical time for environmental policy, and the Guardian Climate Change Summit 2009 is a rallying call for businesses to move from environmental awareness to action in these tough economic times.
